Napoli ready to give PSG discount on Osimhen

Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis is reportedly willing to give Paris Saint-Germain a discount to facilitate Victor Osimhen’s move to the Ligue 1 champions

The Partenopei and PSG are currently locked in talks for the transfer of the striker to the latter. Osimhen has a €130m release clause in his contract. The staggering fee has scared away potential suitors.

Napoli is, however, desperate to sell the Nigeria international to allow them bring in reinforcements for new manager, Antonio Conte.

De Laurentiis, according to Corriere dello Sport, is ready to offer a minor discount on Osimhen’s €130m release clause to facilitate a deal with PSG.

The forward has reportedly agreed to sign a five-year deal with PSG worth €14m net per season.

In 2020, Osimhen transferred to Serie A side Napoli for a club-record fee of €70 million, and won the Serie A Best Young Player award in the 2021–22 season.

In the following campaign, he finished as the league's top scorer with 26 goals, a record-high for an African player, as he helped Napoli win a first Serie A title for 33 years.

For his efforts, he won the league's Best Striker award, before also being named Serie A Footballer of the Year a few months later. Osimhen is currently the highest scoring African player in the history of Serie A.
