Biden just called Zelensky, Putin
There has been outrage and criticism of the President of the United States over mistakenly introducing President Zelinsky of Ukraine as President Putin.
The NATO conference turned into a clown show after President Joe Biden referred to President Zelinsky as President Putin. This statement caused chaos on social media and made headlines in many news outlets. Supporters are calling on the Democratic Party to reconsider the presidential candidate.
People are tweeting about it and questioning whether the President is physically fit to continue for a second term in office. Earlier today, Senator Peter Welch of Vermont became the first Senate Democrat to call for Biden to bow out of the 2024 race. In an op-ed for The Washington Post, Senator Welch expressed his respect for Biden but urged him to withdraw from the race.
Biden immediately corrected himself and gave a reason for referring to Zelinsky as President Putin, stating that it was because "he determined to beat Putin" on the international level, in efforts against wars and conflicts.
"And now I want to hand it over to the President of Ukraine... ladies and gentlemen, President Putin."
The NATO's 75th Anniversary Summit took place in Washington, D.C. During the Summit, Allies made decisions to further strengthen deterrence and defense, provide continued support to Ukraine, and deepen global partnerships. Jens Stoltenberg serves as Secretary General.
