Air hostess Ibom air
On August 10, 2025, a female passenger, Comfort Emmanson, on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos assaulted a flight attendant and clashed with airport security at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
The incident began when Emmanson refused to switch off her phone before takeoff, despite crew instructions. After another passenger turned off her phone, she engaged in a verbal tirade. Upon arrival in Lagos, she physically attacked the purser, tearing off her wig, throwing her glasses, and slapping her multiple times.
She also assaulted another crew member and attempted to use a fire extinguisher as a weapon. Airport security and the Nigeria Police Force intervened, restraining her and taking her into custody. She was later charged and detained at Kirikiri correctional facility.
Ibom Air imposed a lifetime ban on her, citing safety threats to crew, passengers, and aircraft. The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority emphasized the importance of passenger compliance with safety protocols. Videos of the incident circulated on social media, sparking debate about crew conduct and passenger Rights
